PEACHES

Peaches is a saucy domestic short hair that has been a patient of Dr. Jones's since 1998.  Peaches, who has orange tabby markings, likes to go outside and is his Dad's best buddy.  Peaches, or "Peachy" as his dad calls him, is the sort of cat that likes to "get in your face".  Aside from the occasional abscess, which is common in cats that go outside, Peaches has always been generally healthy. Unfortunately, this past November while Dr. Jones was performing a routine dental cleaning, a growth was discovered on Peaches's Palatine tonsil.  The growth was removed and a biopsy confirmed that the growth was a squamous cell carcinoma - a common tumor of the feline oral cavity.  Despite this prognosis and a reluctance to eat for few days after his surgery, Peaches has recovered well and at last check in early March, there was no re-growth of the tumor in his mouth. It was then that our suspicions were confirmed - that Peaches is one tough cookie!
