ABRA

ABRA CLARK

Abra is a Chow Chow / Samoyed mix, aged 13 years.  She was adopted by her owner at the age of 8 weeks and is originally from upstate New York. Abra moved to Rapid City about 6 years ago with her owners, Sarah and Andrew, and has never looked back!  This may be due in part to her interest in hiking, camping, and running in the tall grass - all of which are found in abundance here in the Black Hills.

Abra's other passions include cheese, digging holes, and grooming her toys.  When not partaking in the aforementioned activities, she can be found playing with her best friend and co-canine of the household, Katie, or perhaps playing "dress-up" (she has a predilection toward skirts, scarves, and t-shirts).

Abra goes everywhere she can with her "folks", who make every attempt to take her along in part because Abra gets very nervous when she has to be boarded and suffers from separation anxiety, which is not uncommon.  Last October, Abra needed surgery due to a life-threatening condition known as gastric torsion or bloat.  Due to the vigilance of her owners, Abra's medical emergency was caught early and her surgery, even at the age of 13, was a great success.  According to Sarah, Abra is back to acting as she did when she was a mere 10 years old!    Fashion sense and longevity - what a great combo!
