Mack Hawkins

Veterinary Assistant
Mack

Mack Hawkins is originally from Pennsylvania. After earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Ecology/Environmental Biology in 2014 at Shippensburg University, Mack worked multiple seasons at Yellowstone National Park as a Biological Science Technician on the invasive lake trout removal crew. He then lived in West Virginia, working at a vet clinic and operating as a live-in caretaker for a bird rehab facility. Mack moved to western South Dakota with his girlfriend for her job, and after working one season at Badlands as an exotic plant crew member, joined us here at Noah’s Ark in late 2019.

Mack has always had dogs from local shelters growing up with his parents, and now he cares for two crazy dogs, a red-footed tortoise, and two guinea pigs with his girlfriend. Animals, wild and domestic, are a big passion of his and he would love to make a career working with animals in any form. In his free time, Mack loves to hike (Black Hills are amazing), ski, play basketball, and hang out with his dogs. Mack volunteers at Black Hills Raptor Center. Mack is excited to meet your pets here at Noah’s Ark!
